Hi Regina, I shouldn't help you with your book report but here goes - the conflict of Tall Story lies in what the characters want. Bernardo desperately wants to be accepted / loved by Andy but Andy is too busy obsessing about her own problems.

Hello! OMG, I'm bursting with pride. It's great to hear that another Filipino author (e.g. Samantha Sotto) has managed to successfully get published internationally, I'm so happy for you! I've read only as far as the prologue yet I already can feel that this would be a worthy, wondrous read! I've already ordered via anvilpublishing (I searched the NBS online store and it doesn't seem to be available:( ). I do hope you'd win any, if not all of the awards Tall Story has been shortlisted for. The Carnegie Medal, no less! **crosses fingers** I'm sure the book deserves it. God bless!:)

Remember me at the book awards? I wish you all the best in the future Candy and keep on writing great stories like this one! Maybe your next book could be called "short story" from the point of view of a short person and their family and we as a reader can understand their lifestyle and how hard it can be sometimes for them! :)

    Abbie (Wednesday, 18 May 2011 11:23)

I went into town today and saw this book in my book shops window. Im really tall myself so immediately thought, 'wow! this books for me.' It wasn't until began to read the blurb that I realised the main character had the same name as me! I was stood in the shop with my mouth hanging open! My name is really rare and I never see it anywhere. So I came on this website and she's also the same age as me! Completely woo'd. When I get money, I will definitely be buying the book!<3

    Hi Ms. Candy!

I just finished reading your book. I would still read it even if the organization I am applying for won't include it in our reading list. It makes me so proud as a Filipino.

It made me laugh and cry and frown and smile.

I won't forget your English translation of TURON- sweet banana wrapped in crispy wonton wrapper :)

    Keep on writing.

    Cheers.

Oh well, Ms. Gourlay, I was at the talk with Miguel, and I couldn't wait to buy the book!
I have posted a feed on Facebook about Tall Story just to show how enthusiastic I am about purchasing it from National Bookstore!

    Good morning/afternoon/evening, ma'am.
I was at your talk in the Ateneo Grade School, M.A.G.I.S. C.A. 7.
I am truly inspired by your great work on Tall Story, and can't wait for any other novels of yours to be published.
I'd like to thank you on your fantastic advise per my "Writer's Block" query, though I am currently struggling to apply it, as I can't seem to conjure a way to lower the tempo of the story to match the 400 words. Nevertheless, I really do must say, the quality of writing with that tip is exponentially multiplied. Thank you. =)
I really do hope Tall Story's success grows, and thanks for visiting the AGS. =)
